Problems in Athletics (3 credits)

This course is designed to provide the learner the opportunity to study specific problems in the field of athletics, and to analyze the constantly changing areas of leadership and coaching through lectures, readings, visual aids, discussion and student investigation.

Tuition: 3 graduate credits*, plus $30 out of area fee

Clinical Forum: “Team Building in Athletics” (2 credits)

This workshop is designed for any individuals coaching interscholastic athletic teams. Team-building activities covered, will promote creativity, risk-taking, trustworthiness, communication, and the development of problem solving skills within the athletic environment. The workshop will use an experiential approach to develop teaching skills in team building. This action-based learning environment will specifically include:

  • Goal-setting
  • Sequencing design
  • Communication
  • Problem solving
  • Trustworthiness
  • Portable low elements
  • Processing and facilitation skills
