Thank you to...
Sally Olson ... after nearly 10 years, Sally Olson has decided to step down as chairperson of the LIR Membership and Promotion Committee. Sally spent many hours promoting LIR and bringing in new members. Sally and her committee members were responsible for distribution of newsletters throughout the city and attending retirement functions around town to promote membership in LIR. Some of her numerous duties included getting speakers, entertainment for LIR meetings and submitting articles to local media. Her replacement will be Jane Treglowne as of January 1. With Jane’s experience and attention to detail, this will be a smooth transition. A big welcome to Jane! Again a big THANK YOU to Sally for all the time spent in keeping our organization functioning. You did a great job!
Annette Valeo ... thanks to Annette Valeo, our interim Continuing Education liaison representative during the period of March through June. Annette provided all aspects of administrative support and allowed our organization to function until a permanent liaison was appointed. Annette was very cheerful, knowledgeable and very receptive to the LIR Executive Committee.
Ron Rick, LIR President
Rotary Lights 2011
For the third year in a row, LIR volunteers participated in
helping Rotary Lights with their decorating of Riverside Park
and the LIR Christmas tree decorating and takedown. Thanks to
Shirley Anderson, Dave and Annie Antony, Donna Bartuski, Jack
and Georgeann Connaughton, Bill and Mary Graumann, Shirley Huhn,
Ron Rick, Jane Treglowne and Bob Wingate. With the number of
people viewing this spectacular light display, LIR should get
good exposure and hopefully new members. We will be looking for
volunteers for 2012 at our September 12 Welcome Back Social.
Ron Rick, LIR President/Rotary Lights Coordinator
