AWAKE AND ALIVE/GET SMART
Awake And Alive/Get Smart is an alcohol education group that is a no-lecture, non-judgmental approach to lookingat one's alcohol use. It is a highly interactive, discussion-based group of students sharing ideas and experiences
involving alcohol. This group offers an opportunity to gain ideas for making healthy choices that keep you Awake and
Alive and this chance to Get Smart takes place in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
THE GROUP TEACHES:
- Skills for Risk Reduction
- A moderation skills approach to drinking
- Techniques for reducing drinking and driving
- Skills for setting personal drinking limits
WHO CAN ATTEND?
- Anyone interested in learning more about his/her alcohol use
- If you have received an underage drinking citation
- If your drinking has caused problems in the residence halls
WHEN AND WHERE DO THE GROUPS MEET?
- Groups meet throughout the Fall and Spring semesters
- Each group consists of two 1 1/2 - hour sessions
- Groups meet late in the day to accommodate class schedules
- All groups meet in Room 6C, Wilder Hall (click for campus map)
