Educational Technologies (Ed Tech) assists both academic and administrative areas in the effective integration of technology in teaching and learning, research, public service and community activities. The unit provides assistance in enhancing student learning and achievement, helps faculty integrate effective technology into their teaching and learning, and helps staff to successfully use technology to improve their effectiveness, communication, and efficiency. A team of technology and telecommunication experts consult with clients to find solutions to enhance their educational and promotional needs. Educational Technologies:

  • creates effective instructional and promotional multi-media materials
  • conceives and designs innovative learning environments
  • provides faculty and staff technology training and development
  • provides digital imaging, photography, and graphic design services
  • produces digital videos
  • develops, designs and maintains web sites for campus clients
  • offers teleconferencing, web casting, cable and satellite services
  • provides on-line learning support
  • continually researches and develops emerging technologies
  • has achieved significant technology, customer service and professional development milestones over the past 15 years

Ed Tech staff members are carefully crossed trained in a variety of technology functions and services to accommodate a wide client base. Teamwork and collaboration are essential elements for your and our success. Our intent is to provide the the highest quality products and excellent customer service. Our primary mission is to serve on-campus clientele, but we also work closely and collaborate with community and off-campus clients. Educational Technologies provides technology workshops and seminars throughout the year, including the annual Passport to Technology event. We serve as an important conduit to UW System with representation on the Learning Technology Development Council (LTDC) and the Educational Media Technology Council (EMTC). Students receive technology support for class projects, undergraduate and graduate research, and general technology assistance while attending UW-L. In addition, Educational Technologies offers annual internships and project work for UW-L students.
