Excused: Dorian Dorado

1. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by convenor Robert Hoar

2. Robert Hoar was nominated and elected to chair the committee 11-0-0

3. Scott Cooper was nominated and elected to be secretary 11-0-0

4. The Committee heard appeals of academic ineligibility from HPERTE.  The results were:

Student #1:   Approved 8-3-0  (Adan Burgos absent)
 (Recommended to take CS 101 or BIO 103, get counseling, work with campus alcohol task force)

Student #2:   Denied  1-10-0  (Adan Burgos absent)
 (Recommended to try technical or community college and take study skills course)

5. The Committee heard appeals of academic ineligibility from CBA.  The results were:

Student #3:   Denied  0-11-0  (Adan Burgos absent)
Student #4:   Approved 6-5-0  (Adan Burgos absent)
Student #5 :  Approved 6-5-0  (Adan Burgos absent)
Student #6:   Denied  5-6-0  (Adan Burgos absent)
Student #7:   Denied  0-10-1  (Adan Burgos absent)

6. The Committee heard appeals of academic ineligibility from SAH.  The results were:

Student #8:   Denied  0-11-0  (Bridget McCoy absent)

7. The Committee heard appeals of academic ineligibility from CLS.  The results were:

Student #9:  Approved 7-4-0  (Bridget McCoy absent)
 (Recommended to get professional counseling, work with campus alcohol task force)

Student #10:   Approved 9-2-0  (Bridget McCoy absent)
Student #11:   Approved 11-0-0  (Bridget McCoy absent)

8. Discussed other charges given to the CAPS committee.  Decided to address charges 1 and 4 together regarding the review of the policy on transfer of credits from State Technical Colleges and University admissions policy, standards and/or procedures.

9. The meeting was adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
