The chair introduced Jason Winchester as a student member on the Council.

M/S/P to approve the minutes of September 12, 2003

Student appeals:

M/S/P to accept 12 transfer credits for Student X based on discretion of program director. (Master of Software Engineering)

M/S/P to approve a three-year time extension to the summer 2005, for Student Y to complete degree (ESS-Sport Administration Program). This is the student’s first time extension request.

M/S/P to approve a change of grade from F to I in ESS 749-Summer 1999 for Student Z. (ESS Sport Administration Program)

The appeal request also included permission to be admitted to the ESS-Sport Administration program and for a two-year time extension; however, it was not necessary for the Council to approve these requests. Program admission can be granted by the program director. A one-year time extension to December 2004 may be granted by the Director of University Graduate Studies. Subsequent time extensions would need Council approval.

The chair informed the Graduate Council that Bill Schwan will serve as the Graduate Curriculum Committee representative on the Council.
