Minutes for August 27, 2008

- The meeting was called to order at 8:08 by convener R. Gillis.
- M/S/P to elect J. Shadforth as committee chair.
- S. Anglehart has volunteered to be secretary.
- R. Gillis reviewed responsibilities of CAPS and discussed student appeals procedures.
- M/S to go into closed session to hear student appeals. By roll call vote, motion passed. For each appeal, the standing motion is to approve the appeal.
- The committee heard appeals of academic ineligibility from two College of Science and Health (SAH) students:
XXXX Denied 1-7-0
XXXX Approved 8-0-0
- The committee heard an appeal of academic ineligibility from one College of Liberal Studies (CLS) student:
XXXX Denied 0-8-0
- The committee heard an appeal to request a waiver of the 2.0 GPA graduation requirement for one College of Liberal Studies (CLS) student:
XXXX Denied 0-8-0
M/S to calculate a combined cumulative GPA to earn a 2.0 for above student for graduation from UWL with the understanding that we will calculate a combined cumulative GPA (coursework from all institutions) given the current rules. Motion passed 8-0-0.
- The committee heard appeals of academic ineligibility from four College of Liberal Studies (CLS) students:

- The committee heard an appeal of academic ineligibility from one College of Business Administration (CBA) student:
