Differential Tuition Update:

Anita and Tim discussed their attendance at a meeting of the UW-L Student Senate and an Open Forum where the plans for allocating differential tuition funds were presented. As it stands (subject to several levels of subsequent review and approval), a proposed $170,000 is allocated to the Library for 2009-10. In addition, there is a proposal to move the Tutoring, Advising and Writing Centers into the Library. This will create a resource needs, such as additional library hours. A topic for future discussion by the Committee is how the Library can support these activities when they relocate. There are considerable resource implications. The UW-L Student Senate is voting on the proposal shortly.

In addition for future discussion, the matter of assessment looms, in that any moneys allocated must be assessed. Several ideas were batted about, but the matter was postponed to next semester.

Spring Semester Meeting Times:

By process of elimination, two possible times were arrived for Spring, 2009: Mondays at 2:15pm and Fridays at 2:15 pm. Tim will contact absent members to determine their availability next term.

No news, but the announcement of the State Government’s looming budget deficit puts everything into question.

The meeting adjourned at 11:55 AM. NEXT MEETING – At the Call of the Chair.

Respectfully submitted,

Stephen McDougal, Secretary pro temp.
