M/S/P to waive 2nd reading and approve proposals
Old business: none discussed
New business:
Reviewed committee charge letter. UCC and GCC share two new charges from Faculty Senate. Chair advised she spoke to GCC chair and they propose submitting one combined document. Chair will start preliminary discussions due to the topic (online courses). Proposed that an ad voc committee be assembled to research and present findings to UCC. Ryan Friesen and Brad Seebach volunteered to be on this committee. Would propose GCC ask for volunteers to be on this ad hoc committee as well. Chair will contact Brian Udderman, Director of Online Courses, to present at a future UCC meeting this fall to discuss his work on putting together handbook/guidelines for online courses.
A draft of the updated LX form 138C was presented. Items added to the form included course typically offered, component (i.e. lecture, lab, discussion, etc.), new signature lines including Provost signature and the Director of the School of Education’s signature. Committee discussed adding the Instructional Pattern (mode) to the form. Question was asked if online courses will be added to form. Committee will review the new LX form and will plan on discussing at the next meeting.
Meeting adjourned: 5:00 p.m.
