Parent PLUS Loan PreApproval
The Federal Parent PLUS Loan program provides loans for parents of dependent students attending post-secondary schools.
By completing the Parent PLUS Loan PreApproval, the parent will receive an initial evaluation of their eligibility to receive Federal Parent PLUS Loan. Parent PLUS Loan PreApproval collects basic information and, within minutes, gives you a preliminary decision.
Parent PLUS Loan PreApproval does not obligate you to complete the PLUS Loan application process.
If you are pre-approved for the Parent PLUS Loan and wish to apply
for the loan, you must also:
complete a
Parent
PLUS Loan Request Form
and complete the
Parent PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (Parent PLUS MPN).
If you are using Wells Fargo for your Parent PLUS Loan lender, you will need to complete the Wells Fargo Parent PLUS Loan MPN on their site.
If the parent is denied during the PreApproval process, contact the Financial Aid Office for additional options. Most students are able to receive additional Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loans if their parent is denied the Federal Parent PLUS Loan.
