| Three letters of recommendation using forms provided by the University (Link to Form). At least two from previous professors, with a third from an employer, supervisor, peer, etc. We recommend that you request four letters of recommendation in order to ensure that three reach us by January 15. | |
| A sample of writing, preferably of a psychological nature such as a summary of literature, research paper, psychological reports, etc. It must be written using APA format and be your own work. Please include a note describing the sample. | |
| Statement of Purpose: Describe your interest in school psychology and why you would be effective in this field. A typed page or two should be adequate (Link for help). | |
| A current resume or vita. |

After these materials are submitted, they are reviewed by the Admissions Committee consisting of Program Faculty, a member of the psychology department and graduate assistants in the School Psychology program.
The focus of the Admissions Committee is assessing your academic potential to complete graduate studies, your professional work characteristics, and your potential as a future school psychologist to impact the lives of children. The National Association of School Psychologists advocates for the following professional work characteristics:
(1) respect for human diversity,
(2) communication skills,
(3) effective interpersonal relations,
(4) ethical responsibility,
(5) adaptability, and
(6) initiative/dependability.
Some applicants will be invited for a personal interview with the Admissions Committee. Applicants will also be able to talk with current school psychology students and tour the campus and program facilities.
