Each position will be on a
rotating schedule and work schedules will vary based on the campus academic year
calendar.
Job Duties
The Security
Officer 3 positions will investigate un-secure premises, investigate incidents,
which may have an impact on university security and the protection of assets,
assist people, identify sources of problems, and work with the UW Police as a
primary duty. These positions will work to maintain secure premises and open
work areas for legitimate purposes and will insure rules and laws are enforced
pursuant to department policy. The work affects the safety and security of the
university community and its properties. The security officers will support the
department's mission by providing essential functions while respecting the
rights and dignity of all individuals and taking pride in all we do.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of codes, and policies pertaining to
security, parking, traffic, and building procedures; of crime prevention
techniques; of defense tactics, vehicle operation, crowd control techniques;
knowledge and skill in foot patrol techniques; in oral and written
communication; in first aid CPR, and A.E.D.; in investigative techniques; the
ability to communicate with and be respectful of a diverse community of
individuals; to observe and recall facts and details about persons, events,
scenes, physical conditions and human behaviors; to make appropriate quick
decisions based on training and experience quickly; to read and understand
complex printed material; to deal with a diverse population in a variety of
situations; possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational
skills; and be able to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.

Full
Time (40 hrs/week)
Evening 2nd Shift (3pm to 11pm or similar hours)
Evening 3rd Shift (11pm to 7am or similar hours)
Starting wage will be $13.41 per hour. The pay schedule/range is 05-10 and is non-represented. A six-month probationary period will be required.

button, and then the “Take Exam” button on the next screen.
Step 6: You must save your responses on each page. Please note that WiscJobs
will time out after 20 minutes if the page you are working on has not been
completed and saved and the answers on that page will need to be re-entered.
This will not affect your answers on previous pages.
Step 7: When you have completed the exam click the '"Save and Finalize" button.
At the next screen click "Finalize". After you have finalized your exam, you
will be sent an email by the system confirming that your exam has been
completed. If you exit the exam and re-enter later to update your answers, you
will need to save each page and finalize or your answers may not be recorded.
After you have finalized your exam, you will be sent an email by the system
confirming that your exam has been completed.

267-1012. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. Application materials will be evaluated and those qualified will be invited
to participate in the next step of the selection process.

after 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 22nd before the February 24th deadline.
