  • Classified payroll

    Classified staff positions fall under the State of Wisconsin civil service system. Classified staff positions are quite varied and duties include, but are not limited to, administrative support, information technology, accounting, engineering, in addition to custodial, food service, and craftsworkers. All classified staff are paid biweekly.

    Payroll deductions

    All benefits premiums, except for State Group Life Insurance, will be deducted from the "A" paychecks*.

    State Group Life Insurance premiums will be deducted from your "B" paychecks*.

    The following benefits plans are taken from every paycheck (including the two "C" paychecks each year):

    • Employee Reimbursement Account (ERA)
    • Tax-Sheltered Annuity 403(b) Program
    • Wisconsin Deferred Compensation 457 Program
    • Wisconsin Retirement System contributions

    When applicable, the Tax-Sheltered Annuity (TSA) annual fee is deducted from the first pay check of the calendar year.

    Time and Leave reporting

    Use the appropriate timesheet to report all hours and leave used in the bi-weekly pay period.  Timesheets must be approved by the supervisor and forwarded to HR prior to the deadline indicated on the payroll calendar (see above).
