Applications for all OTHER tasks will be available in the Office of International Education-  Centennial Hall 1209 from 8am Monday February 20th and are due:
4pm Thursday March 1st to Office of International Education- Centennial Hall 1209

IMPORTANT

GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION

  1. Mandatory: Attend the first ISO General meeting from 3pm on Friday February 3rd in Cartwright Room 339. Make up meetings are at the discretion of the organizers.
  2. Failing to complete an activity a student signed up for will automatically cancel the point(s).
  3. At least 1 of the 4 points must be earned from participation in the International Banquet.
  4. If the activity is part of an event, failing to perform the activity will automatically cancel any point earned from other activities during the same event.
  5. Point cancellation will be avoided only if the organizer is contacted 7 days prior to the event regarding any schedule conflict via email or phone call.
  6. Each task has additional specific rules and tasks that must be followed
  7. Tracking: Each supervisor has a tracking sheets for you - please sign in when you come and sign out when you leave
  8. No point will be awarded if a rule is violated (the task/performance is considered incomplete)
  9. No point will be awarded if students come 15 minutes late or more after the scheduled time
  10. In case of emergency, please discuss with this organizer regarding the ruling of the global link points.
  11. Seats and meals are not available unless you purchase a ticket
  12. APPLICATION Form

b.      Please fill in your Student ID and email address
c.       By signing you acknowledge and agree that you have read and understand all the rules mentioned in the meeting and on the application form. Please copy the following statement in the space provided below:

¡  I hereby acknowledge and confirm that I have read, understand, and agree to all the rules of the International Banquet. I am obligatory to fulfill my responsibility and failing to do so without informing ISO at least 7 days prior will result in cancellation of all points from the International Banquet.

13.   Avoid Task Conflict - please do NOT sign up for more than 1 task in each category:

a. Food Serving x Usher/Food runner
b. Cooking x Dishwashing
c. Fashion show/Flag Ceremony x Usher

14.    ISO reserves the right to make exceptions and changes.

  

SPECIFIC RULES AND INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUAL TASK

1. Cooking

¡  2 point/person

¡  Supervisor: Shizuka Ikeyama – ikeyama.shiz@uwlax.edu

¡  Group size most 5 members per group

¡  Submit an application and a recipe before 3pm Friday February 10th at OIE (an application is incomplete without a recipe)

               * You can submit more than 1 recipe

¡  You will be notified of approval or rejection by Friday February 17th via email

¡  A team leader is responsible for communication with the ISO executive and conveying all information to the team members

¡  Tasks

¡  A team leader needs to meet with Chartwells Manager (details to be provided later)
¡  Cook on Friday afternoon April 13th or Sunday morning April 14th – arranged by ISO - in Cartwright kitchen (ingredients will be provided)

 

2. Dishwashing

¡  2 points/person

¡  Supervisor: Shizuka Ikeyama – ikeyama.shiz@uwlax.edu

 ¡  3-hour shift (180 min) – Friday afternoon April 13th or Saturday morning April 14th

                (** about 8 students needed – 2 students/shift)

 

3. Publicity

¡  1 point/person
¡  Supervisor: Thanaporn Thepsiriamnuay (Beaut) thepsiri.than@uwlax.edu

Tasks:
¡  Meet with supervisor(s) in the week March 5 to 9
¡  Choose 1 task from
          
Posters: on campus - 2 students
     Table tents + Banners – 3 students

 

4. Decoration and cleaning

¡  1 point/person

¡  Supervisor: Moeri Fukaya  fukaya.moer@uwlax.edu

 

¡  Perform both:

·         Decoration on Friday April 13th (incl. carrying flags from OIE)

§  Tentative time: from 4pm to 6pm

·         Cleaning after the Banquet

§  Tentative time: ~ 9pm to 9:30pm

 

5. Performance

¡  2 points/ person

¡  Executive in charge: Zhuangfei Ge (Garnett) ge.zhua@uwlax.edu

¡  Appropriateness - no profanity or impropriety of language is permitted

¡  The group leader is responsible for communication with ISO executives

¡  Every member of the group is responsible for the group’s performance

¡  Group size: up to 16 students in a group (Exceptions are at the discretion of the ISO Executive Council)

¡  Length: 3 to 7 minutes

¡  Song, Dance, and/or any other performance

¡  SEND MUSIC FILEs by Thursday February 23rd

¡  SEND LIGHT/SOUND description to isouwl@uwlax.edu by Friday April 6th

¡  ATTEND Auditions

§  1st Audition: Friday February 24th (informal)
§  2nd Audition: Friday March 23rd

¡  ATTEND Run-throughs

§  1st Run-throughs: Saturday April 7th
§  2nd Run-throughs: Friday April 13th

¡  IN THE BANQUET

§  Ready behind the stage 15 min prior to the actual performance

¡  ISO reserves the right to reject the performance without providing details

6. MC

¡  2 points/ person

¡  Executive in charge: Zhuangfei Ge (Garnett) ge.zhua@uwlax.edu

¡  Requirement: English proficiency

¡  Appropriateness - no profanity or impropriety of language is permitted

¡  Application due Monday February 20th at OIE

¡  MC Audition: Friday February 24th

If accepted:

 Attend all auditions and rehearsals
Written scripts due Monday April 2nd

 

7. Fashion Show + Flag Ceremony

¡  1 point/ person

¡  Executive in charge: Zhuangfei Ge (Garnett) ge.zhua@uwlax.edu

¡  Group size: up to 8 students per country

   (Exceptions are at the discretion of the ISO Executive Council)

¡  Provide ALL MUSIC FILES before the audition

 Perform both:

¡  Flag ceremony: approximately 3 minutes
¡  Fashion show:  at most 1 minute/country

 Attend

¡  Audition on Friday March 23th
¡  Run-through on Friday April 13th
¡  Be ready at 5:45pm on the Day of the International Banquet

8. Ushering

¡  2 points/ person

¡  Executive in charge: Ran Ikeyama  ikeyama.ran@uwlax.edu

Perform the FOLLOWING TASKS:

¡  Be in Valhalla at EXACTLY 4:00 pm on Saturday April 14th for training
¡  5pm to 6pm: Take guests to the seats or Check tickets at the front door
¡  6:30pm to 7:30pm: Food running – refill food and drink/water supply from the kitchen to stations

** total: about 10 students needed

 

9. Food serving

¡  1 point/ person
¡  Executive in charge: Thao Nguyen (nguyen.tha2@uwlax.edu)

Perform the FOLLOWING TASKS:

¡  Be in Valhalla at EXACTLY 4:00 pm on Saturday April 14th for training
¡  6:30pm to 7:30pm: Food serving

** total: about 32 students needed
