The Comprehensive Exam is one of three Culminating Project options for all ME-PD Students. Upon the completion of 34 (EC-A and EA-A35 students) or 35 (EC-MC and MC-EA students) graduate credits, ME-PD students are eligible to write the exam.
Students choose three faculty members to serve on their Comprehensive Exam Committee, each of whom write two questions each based on course content. During the four hour exam, students must write responses to four questions, including one from each Committee Member.
Comprehensive Exam Sessions are held three times each academic year ion a Saturday morning; usually in October, March, and May. The Exam is typically held in the GCA Computer Lab in Murphy Library. Exams are type-written and saved to a disk for the student's file. Arrangements for students wishing to write the exam by hand can be made upon request.
Approximately one month prior to each exam, an information meeting is held. Check the ME-PD Calendar for this year's dates and registration deadlines.
