1. How long will it take me to complete my program?
The timeline for program completion varies with the individual. The average amount of
time is 2 - 2.5 years, however, graduate studies allows 7 years for completion. Two
factors that affect time for completion are:

Undergraduate deficiencies – the number of credits necessary to complete certifiable major or minor. Are you choosing a certification area unrelated to your undergraduate degree?
Credit load carried each semester – Will you have conflicts with work schedule, personal schedule? Will you be able to take classes during J-term and summer?

2. When should I apply for admission to ME-PD?
Sooner than later. ALL application materials including PPST scores must be submitted
before you are accepted as a "degree seeking student" into the ME-PD initial certification program. While we do
accept student applications on a “rolling basis”, experience has shown that last minute
applicants are unable to register for desired coursework because classes are full.

3. I have an undergraduate degree in History and have decided I would like to
pursue teacher licensure. I would like to know if it would be better to get a master
or bachelor in education.
When deciding on whether to do an undergraduate or graduate program for teacher
licensure, several factors come into play. Some of these include:

Costs – graduate credits cost more than undergraduate credits
Marketability/demand – Is there a demand for the teaching position you are seeking? Are you more marketable with or without a graduate degree?
