About the Initial Certification Track

The Master of Education – Professional Development Initial Certification option is for students possessing a baccalaureate degree who wish to obtain licensure to teach while simultaneously earning a master’s degree. The program is dedicated to preparing teachers who are active and inquiring learners, leaders, and community members. Students work with faculty advisors to plan graduate programs that meet licensure requirements in certifiable major and minor content areas, in addition to ensuring completion of the ME-PD required core coursework.
