When & where do Learning Communities meet?
Learning Communities are offered in various sites throughout Wisconsin each fall and spring semester. Community sites are determined based on requests from prospective students. Sites are posted at our Web page once they are determined. Please click on Community Sites to see current site locations. If you are interested in having a Learning Community in your area, please contact our office at 608.785.6507; 1.877.812.7270.
Convenient sites make it easier for you to earn your master's degree. Learning Communities are delivered in Traditional, Online and Hybrid formats. The number of face-to-face meeting times will be determined by the program format you choose. Face-to-face meeting times are Saturday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. Although Learning Communities do not meet formally during June/July or over December/January break, coursework may be assigned.
First semester meeting dates are determined by the ME-PD Coordinator for facility scheduling purposes. Weekend dates for subsequent semesters will be determined by each Learning Community. An effort is made to space weekends as evenly as possible throughout the semester.
Learning Community students are required to attend our November Conference in La Crosse, always held the second weekend of November. This is an opportunity for all first, second, third and fourth semester students to come together to further professional development and enrich collegial networks. The November Conference is held the same hours as your Learning Community weekend, Saturday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. All costs associated with attending the November Conference (travel, hotel, meals, etc.) are the responsibility of the student and are not included in your tuition bill. Effective Fall 2010, a $50 course fee for November Conference will be applied to your tuition bill.
