  • FastTrack

FastTrackFastTrack is a hybrid summer mathematics enhancement program where incoming freshmen develop their mathematical skills online for six weeks before meeting on campus for a one-week campus stay. The goal of the program is for students placed into MTH 050 or 051 to increase their skills in order to place into a higher mathematics class in the Fall on their freshmen year that will be required for their academic program.  During the on-campus stay, students will retake the University of Wisconsin System Mathematics Placement Exam and will meet with academic advisors to further assist with their academic planning for the Fall semester.

    Why FastTrack?

FastTrack is designed to give incoming freshmen the opportunity to move ahead in their required mathematics coursework, providing them with a faster time to complete their mathematics sequence. It is also designed to orient students to campus life, student services, and the La Crosse community. Students enrolled in the FastTrack program will also be able to move in their residence hall one week prior to the start of the Fall semester.

    On-line Only FastTrack

On-line only FastTrack is an alternative option for students who placed into MTH 050 or 051.  This option includes the six-week online program that is designed to develop mathematical skills.  Students in the online program will retake the University of Wisconsin System Mathematics Placement Exam during the move-in weekend prior to the start of the Fall semester.

    How do I apply?

Online pre-applications will be accepted through July 2, 2015. Click here to complete the pre-application.

What is the Summer 2015 timeline?

The online pre-assessment must be completed prior to the program start date of Wednesday, July 15th, 2015. Course modules will be opened to students from July 15th to August 30th. The weekly commitment to the FastTrack program will be approximately 6 hours of online study and communication. Most of the online study can be done independently at the student's convenience. Some designated weekly learning times will be required for students to attent on-line review sessions with the FastTrack instructors and tutors.

Students in the hybrid program will move into their assigned residence hall on Sunday, August 30th and will participate in instructional and campus activities throughout the week.
