Call to Participate: A Celebration of Campus Authors

Have you published a book? If so, please consider participating in this year’s Celebration of Campus Authors.

The Celebration of Campus Authors provides an opportunity for the campus community to explore and discuss books published by campus authors from all disciplines. It provides a forum in which accomplished authors can share their experiences related to writing and publishing, future authors can learn more about the process, and all can benefit from the exchange of ideas. This year, the Alumni Association is participating, and many alumni have already registered their books for the event.

This call to participate is going out to all UW-L faculty, staff, and alumni who have:

    • Authored, co-authored, compiled, edited, co-edited, translated, or illustrated a published book during the past TWO years (since the last Celebration)
    • Or have published a book published at any time that has never been featured in one of these celebrations

Use the author participation form to sign up:

A reception featuring books and their authors will take place on October 21, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Cleary Center Great Hall. Books will also be on display in Murphy Library for several weeks after the event.

This Celebration of Campus Authors program is sponsored by Murphy Library and the Provost's Office, who are happy to partner with the Alumni Association for this year’s event.

  • New: Journal Citation Reports

Murphy Library has subscribed to Journal Citation Reports (JCR), a tool that evaluates the influence and impact of scholarly journals in the sciences and social sciences.

JCR ranks journals according to how often they are cited, how quickly articles are cited, and other criteria. Researchers often use JCR to identify the core journals in their discipline, to learn about those journals, and to try to determine the influence of those journals.

Connect directly to Journal Citation Reports here, or find it in the library's list of  databases by title and on the library's Resources for Faculty and Staff  web page.
