The Alice Hagar Curriculum Center supports the education curriculum of the School of Education and any children's and young adult literature courses taught at the UW-L. Priority is given to materials which most directly support course work preparing students to meet requirements of education degrees and credentials. The collection development policy is coordinated with the main library's collection development policy and mission of service.
In conjunction with UW-L's mission of inclusivity, the center provides a growing multicultural collection that reflects the values of cultural diversity and promotes respect and appreciation for all cultures, perspectives and the global community.
Items are regularly withdrawn based on current library policies to be donated, recycled, discarded or placed in the book sale collection. Older items of historical or research value may be kept if space and budgets allow. Only donations that meet selection criteria of the Curriculum Center development policy will be accepted. Materials with multiple components will be accepted only if complete.
The Alice Hagar Curriculum Resource Center's primary mission is to provide services, instruction and resources that support the instructional programs of the School of Education, UW-La Crosse as well as to the La Crosse education community.
The Curriculum Resource Center strives to maintain sustainable relevance and inclusivity in services, instruction and resources to adapt to the changing environment of the 21stcentury and the information literacy needs of students, faculty and professionals in the field of Education.
