  • Course reserves

Murphy Library Access Services maintains an active reserve collection of course materials such as circulating and personal copies of books and DVDs and limited numbers of textbook rental items. Please direct students to the Access Services circulation desk located on the main floor of the library to check out materials on reserve.

Access Services staff will adjust the type, scope, and number of items made available with consideration of copyright law and fair use guidelines (see our Copyright Guide).

Please allow one week for reserves processing and placement.

Near the end of each semester, instructors will receive an e-mail requesting guidance on the continuation of the reserve item. Unless the faculty response to this e-mail indicates we should retain the reserve, all reserve materials will be removed and shelved or returned to the faculty member at the end of each semester.

To request that items be placed on reserve, please fill out this form:

  • New: Journal Citation Reports

Murphy Library has subscribed to Journal Citation Reports (JCR), a tool that evaluates the influence and impact of scholarly journals in the sciences and social sciences.

JCR ranks journals according to how often they are cited, how quickly articles are cited, and other criteria. Researchers often use JCR to identify the core journals in their discipline, to learn about those journals, and to try to determine the influence of those journals.

Connect directly to Journal Citation Reports here, or find it in the library's list of  databases by title and on the library's Resources for Faculty and Staff  web page.
