And don’t worry about having to arrive on a certain date or stay for a predetermined length of time. Our dedicated and enthusiastic on-the-ground teams in each location are committed to providing you access to the best opportunities to suit your objectives, whether you want an internship, volunteer or study abroad experience. You’ll find our network of contacts within the local companies, nonprofit organizations, schools, research institutes, foundations, hospitals and health care clinics in each of our destination cities is well established and extensive.
PROGRAM FEE AND PAYMENTS
Students are required to pay, directly to Connect-123, a program fee deposit when applying to the program. This deposit is fully refundable should Connect-123 not find a placement that you approve. The remaining fees will be billed to your UW-L student account and can be paid as you normally pay your tuition bill. The Connect-123 program fee includes the following:
- Custom designed internship
- Arranging secure, high quality housing
- Airport meet and greet service
- Country information pack
- Comprehensive orientation upon arrival
- Connect-123 social and cultural events
- Substantial local transport
- Logistical assistance and hands on help in emergencies
Because credit for this internship experience will be granted through UW-L, the cost for credit will be added, as well as an administrative fee of $600. This administrative fee includes:
- Pre-payment of program fees on your behalf
- Preparation of Financial Aid Budgets
- INS 250 Orientation to Study Abroad Course*
- Registration while abroad in INS 300: Foreign Study to maintain your registration at UW-L
- Transfer of Credit Processing
- International Student Identity Card (ISIC)
- Study Abroad Graduation Sash
Financial Aid is applicable to program fees .
*Students who will be abroad for a semester or longer are required to enroll in the one credit INS 250 Orientation class the semester prior to the start of their internship. Students must make room in their schedule to accommodate this additional credit. [Those students who have studied abroad previously are exempt from this requirement.]
