The University of Wisconsin - La Crosse Planetarium presents programs to school groups, private groups, and the public.
A recorded message and voice mail are available at 608-785-8669. The Planetarium is located in Room 20 of Cowley Hall, in the basement. Our parking lot is Commuter Lot 3. Cowley Hall is on the northwest corner of East Ave. and Pine St. (See Directions and Maps on the top left side of this page.) Meters are enforced from 7am to 7pm Monday - Friday. Rates are $1.00 an hour (25 cents for 15 minutes). Lots are NOT enforced on Saturdays or Sundays. There is a new parking ramp on campus. The entrance is on Farwell St., between 16th St. and 17th St. You may park in one of the signed, PAY STATION spots. There are 32 of these on the ground floor, to your right as you enter. Remember your space number and pay for time at the pay station, located at the ramp exit. Multiple forms of payment are accepted. Visitors may also stop at the parking office, located at the parking ramp, to purchase a temporary permit. Permits are $3 or $5 for half or full day parking.
PUBLIC PROGRAMS: Public Programs are at 1pm on Saturdays. There are monthly Public Programs in October, November, December, February, March, and April. Admission is $5 for Adults and $3 for Students, Children, and Senior Citizens (over 60). The first part of each program is a talk on the current evening sky. That is followed by a multimedia audiovisual presentation on an astronomical subject. The December program will be "Winter Wonders". It will be presented at 1pm on Saturdays December 14 and 21.
ALBUM ENCOUNTERS: Album Encounters are multimedia light and laser shows to rock music. They are presented at 8pm on Fridays when classes are in session. Admission is $5. The December 13th Album Encounter will feature Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here". It will be the last one of the semester.

We have maximum seating capacity of about 50 adults OR 70 children
The charge for private or school groups of 10 or more is $3 per person. The minimum charge per program is $30 for a group of 10 or less.
Our facility has been recognized in Physics Today, The Alumnus and La Crosse Magazine. Our goal is to provide educational outreach for the area and to raise awareness of the value of astronomy.
