Amery joined the Office of Sponsored Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities in the Provost's Office on September 2006. As Grant Writer, Amery is responsible for researching sources, developing, writing, and submitting proposals to secure funding from public and private sources on behalf of UW-La Crosse and School District of La Crosse.

Before joining UW-L and the La Crosse School District, Amery was as a graduate assistant in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at UW-Eau Claire, where she also earned her Master of Arts in English. Prior to working for UWEC, Amery was a technical and marketing writer.

In addition to meeting and working with UW-L and La Crosse school district personnel, Amery is interested in creating a proactive deadline tracking system that enables grant seekers to stay ahead of and aware of upcoming grant deadlines.
