General Education Assessment Taskforce Formed
The Provost’s Office has originated a short term task force charged with developing a comprehensive plan to assess general education learning outcomes. Consultation with the Faculty Senate Executive Committee and Emily Johnson (Director of General Education) led to the concept of a task force that will allow UW-L to make more progress toward implementing assessment and respond to UW System and NCA reporting deadlines. A complete description of the charge and structure of the task force is available at http://www.uwlax.edu/provost/pvchome/GenEdTaskforce.pdf.
The committee, comprised of Scott Cooper (biology), Deb Hoskins (women’s, gender, and sexuality studies/honors), Sandy Grunwald (chemistry), and Carmen Wilson (psychology), has been charged with providing a complete draft of a plan for review by the General Education Committee in late August, 2007.
E-portfolios for Retention & Promotion Workshops
Three workshop times have been set for faculty interested in attending a hands-on session regarding the use of electronic portfolios (Digital Measures) for retention and promotion.
