Spanish Scholarship Committee, Member. (September 2007 - Present)
As part of this committee, I collaborate in organizing the students? applications for our two major Spanish scholarships and directing the process of selecting the top candidates.
Human Resources Committee, Member. (September 2006 - Present)
Reviewing faculty Merit Reports and deciding on High Merit, Merit or no Merit.
Advisor in Annual Spanish Advising Day. (October 2005 - Present)
I advised students about studying abroad, general requirements for major and minors in Spanish and what would be the best classes for them to take according their levels.
Academic
I have helped Amity scholars to coordinate their schedules with those of the other assigned instructors and I serve as a contact person in case issues arise.
Course Coordinator of Section of Spanish (SPA 304). (September 2004 - Present)
Some of my responsibilities as a course coordinator include establishing some supervisory, advisory and organizational scheme for Spanish 304, sharing information from Spanish sectional and departmental meetings with adjunct instructors, coordinating syllabi and materials, ordering texts for new staff, orienting and helping train new staff, and answering questions from new instructors. As a course coordinator I have helped another professors teaching SPA 304 with syllabus, quizzes, tests, and general organization/content of the course.
Advisor in Annual Departmental Advising Fair. (April 2003 - Present)
I advised students about studying abroad and major and minor requirements.

Last summer I traveled to
Ad Hoc Committee to craft the new Spanish position job description, Member. (March 2007 - May 2007)
The purpose of this committee was to craft the new Spanish position job description. The committee looked at samples and suggestions of good proposals and proper language which do not alienate multi-cultural or diversity applicants, and envisioned what sort of needs the Department will have in Spanish by investigating types of courses and areas that needed to be filled, such as service to a growing US Latino population in La Crosse.
Department Activities Committee, Member. (September 2005 - September 2006)
This committee supervises the Amity scholars. Some of my responsibilities regarding the Amity scholars were: serving as a liaison for house maintenance, supervising workload issues and weekly teaching schedules, and preparing and participating in fall orientations. I collaborated in organizing departmental activities. Every year I invite the Amity scholars for dinner at my home. Last year I was an integral part of bringing our fifth Amity scholar from
Spanish Search and Screen Committee, Member. (September 2005 - February 2006)
This committee was formed to hire a professor for the new tenured-track position in Spanish. I participated in the selection and interviewing process that resulted in the hiring of Prof. Jean Janecki.
Technology Committee, Member. (September 2002 - September 2005)
I participated in planning and organizing the ?Technology Training Workshops? January 2004 and 2005. I collaborated in the process of organizing the acquisition of movies by the
Spanish Hiring Committee, Member. (September 2004 - May 2005)
I participated in interviewing two candidates that resulted in two new adjunct positions for the fall 2005.
Amity Fund Raising

Last year I was part of two sub-committees in charge of reviewing the Chemistry and the Honors Programs. At the present moment, I am part of the sub-committee in charge of reviewing the Ethnic and Racial Studies Program.
"Awakening Dance Team", Faculty Advisor. (September 2004 - Present)
I have been meeting with team leaders to discuss their programs and schedules and attended some of their performances.

As chair of this committee, I had the responsibilities of scheduling, organizing and directing the meetings through the year. I also wrote the ?Year End Report?.

I reviewed all the scholarship applications from students and ranked them in order. I collaborated in electing the winners for the Murphy Academic Excellence Awards and participated in interviewing candidates for the Richard & Ethel Thrune Scholarships.
Public/Community, ?Heritage Family Night? at
The program goal is to educate the community and students on the variety of ethnic cultures existing within the Coulee Region. People from many different world areas prepared tables with cultural information about their own countries. I have been representing
Public/Community, Intensive Spanish Course for Missions in
I taught a Spanish intensive course for approximately 50 teenagers as a preparation for their Mexico Missions Trip (summer 2007) at Bethany Church in Onalaska.
