The Office of Sponsored Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities, led by Dr. Vijendra (VJ) Agarwal, helps to support UW-L's three-fold mission of instruction, service, and research by assisting faculty and staff members in obtaining external funding. The services and key responsibilities of the office include:

  • Assisting project directors/principal investigators in the budget preparation, review and approval of all extramural grants and contracts proposals.
  • Authorizing establishment of accounts for accepted awards.
  • Reviewing, interpreting, implementing, and disseminating policies of outside private and governmental funding agencies and of UW-L and UW System.
  • Negotiating grant and contract awards for UW-L with outside funding agencies.
  • Providing administrative oversight to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other compliances.
  • Promoting research, scholarship and creative activities by faculty, staff and students.
