Growth and Access Update

On April 20th, Chancellor Gow will provide an update on the status of Growth and Access relative to legislative approval. The Growth and Access executive team and planning teams will also provide an update and solicit feedback from you on the Growth and Access planning to date.

Faculty Promotion Information Sessions

The Joint Promotion Committee has scheduled two information sessions for faculty interested in applying for promotion in the next academic year or in the future. Joint Promotion Committee members will be available to provide an overview of the process and answer questions. Recently promoted faculty will be available to share their experiences and answer questions.

Information Technology Listening Sessions

As announced previously, Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Joint Information Technology Services (JITS) Committee will be holding listening sessions for academic departments in April. The purpose of the sessions is to engage instructors in conversations about ITS services and priorities. Department chairs have designated liaisons from their departments who will represent departmental opinions; however, all interested faculty are invited to attend these sessions.

Student Information System

Ciber Enterprise Solutions has been hired by UW System to prepare UW-L for the implementation of PeopleSoft’s Student Information System (SIS).  The primary role of the SIS will be the management of student data, such as admissions and recruitment, enrollment and course records, financial aid, and student financials.  The first phase of the project is the assessment of UW-L’s priorities for implementation and should be completed by May 4, 2007.

“By the Numbers” Newsletter

The Office of Institutional Research produces a regular newsletter entitled “By the Numbers” designed to share the knowledge, experience, and findings of the office with UW-L students, staff, faculty, and administrators. The March newsletter explores the findings from the Equity Scorecard Committee regarding patterns in student data regarding “excellence.”
