    General Education Assessment Taskforce Formed

The Provost’s Office has originated a short term task force charged with developing a comprehensive plan to assess general education learning outcomes. Consultation with the Faculty Senate Executive Committee and Emily Johnson (Director of General Education) led to the concept of a task force that will allow UW-L to make more progress toward implementing assessment and respond to UW System and NCA reporting deadlines. A complete description of the charge and structure of the task force is available at http://www.uwlax.edu/provost/pvchome/GenEdTaskforce.pdf

The committee, comprised of Scott Cooper (biology), Deb Hoskins (women’s, gender, and sexuality studies/honors), Sandy Grunwald (chemistry), and Carmen Wilson (psychology), has been charged with providing a complete draft of a plan for review by the General Education Committee in late August, 2007.

As of August 2007, the deadline for any grant received in the past 18 months will be February 15, 2008. Thereafter the formal deadline will be the third Friday in February annually.

Faculty and staff who have received UW-L internal grants may access the form at any time from the Office of Sponsored Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity’s website (http://www.uwlax.edu/grants/index.htm). Reminders will be sent in late January or early February to individuals who received grants for which final reports are due. If a grant recipient has already submitted a final report, he/she need not resubmit via the online form.

The following grants will now be using this form:
