Dr. McDougal specializes in judicial politics and political communication.  He has a number of  publications and is currently researching language and contemporary legal culture.  Along with Dr. Bigel, he is a pre-law adviser and serves as the Mock Trial faculty adviser.  Dr. McDougal is married to Pamela and they have two children, Amanda and Emily.  He enjoys golf, the outdoors, and working on his house.  Prior to joining the department in   1992, he taught at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
