What Rules Apply to a Person with a Major in both Political
Science and Public Administration or a Major in One and a Minor in the Other?
It is possible for students to have a double major in
Political Science and Public Administration or to major in one and minor in the
other. But there are some special rules which apply.
1. POL 450: Internship. The first 6
credits of POL 450 taken for the Public Administration major or minor cannot
count toward the Political Science major or minor. Internship credits
above and beyond the first 6 taken for the Public Administration major can be
counted toward the Political Science major or minor. Internships taken
for Public Administration must be supervised by Dr. Heim or Dr. Rodgers.
2. POL 300, 311, 312, 313, 314, 317, 318,
325 and 6 credits of POL 450 if taken to meet the Public Administration minor
requirements cannot be counted towards a Political Science major or minor.
3. In all other cases, courses taken for the
Political Science major or minor can also count toward a Public Administration
major or minor if they are among the electives or requirements for the Public
Administration major or minor and vice versa.
