ECO 740, Macroeconomic Policies in Global Economy, 3 cr.; New course

A detailed examination of the fundamentals of international monetary economics and macroeconomic policies. Currency markets and exchange rates, the balance of payments accounts, the market for goods and services, and money and the banking system in relation to foreign exchange will be discussed. Short-run and long-run macroeconomic policies under fixed and flexible exchange rates, and their impact on interest rates, prices and output are emphasized. Course is not open to students who have completed Eco 441/541.
