Women's Rugby

Overview

The UW-L Women’s Rugby team was formed in 1995.  Rugby has two seasons, fall and spring, with games played mainly on Saturdays.  During the fall league games are played against teams from Wisconsin and in the spring, tournaments are played against teams from Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. All women are invited to play on the Women's Rugby team for the spring season, not just UW-L students. Rugby tours are arranged every two years; past tours have been to Ireland, Wales, Holland, and New Zealand.  In August of 2007 the team traveled to Australia with the Winona Women's Rugby Club.
