UW-La Crosse Alpine Race Team
Who are we?The UW-L Alpine Race Team is a group of students who love skiing and snowboarding. We come from all sorts of racing backgrounds. Some of us have never raced before joining while others have raced for many years.
What do we do?We are members of the Midwest Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (MCSA) and United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA). During the months of January and February we attend seven different races throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Michigan competing against other Midwestern schools. The seventh race is regionals held at Marquette Mt. where the team has a chance to qualify for nationals located in either Idaho or Maine. The races take place on the weekend with two runs of either slalom or giant slalom on each day. Snowboarders will have four runs of giant slalom on one day and a slope style event on the other. At regionals students will be able to compete in either skier cross or boarder cross.
Why?If you love skiing and snowboarding at different ski areas during the day and spending the evening hanging out at a pool with other college students why not join? It is a great way to meet other UWL students; as well as students from other schools.
