The UW-L Sport
Clubs Organization is the largest
student run group at UW-L with over
400 student members in 18 activity and
competitive
clubs. Sport Clubs offer students an opportunity
to participate in a variety of activities. Club
logistics, rosters, waivers, scheduling contests
or practices, organizing travel, preparing and
presenting budgets, and representing the club on
and off the campus are the responsibilities of
elected student officers of each club.
Assistance
is always available, if desired, through the
Sport Club Office or individual club adviser.
Due to affiliated league restrictions,
certain club rosters are limited and require
tryouts.
Clubs hosted 38 competitions during the 2011-12
academic year. Collectively, the clubs
competed in 203 contests including
representation of seven clubs at their sport or leagues
highest competition level (national tournament
for many). Between the 17
clubs and 400 members in 2011-12, over 815 hours
of community service were completed.
