    MIC 130, Global Impact of Infectious Disease – Germs Gone Wild, 3 cr.; new course.
    A multifaceted examination of issues related to infectious disease throughout the world. The course will being with historical examples of how infectious disease has impacted society, from plagues of centuries past to recent emerging diseases. After defining the types of pathogens and methods for their control, the interplay between infectious disease and global economics, health, and politics will be evaluated. Additionally, the impact of public perceptions and misconceptions on the spread of infectious disease will be analyzed. Finally, the role of current human activities in shaping disease patterns of the future will be explored. Offered Sem. II.

    MTH 449/549, Applied Multivariate Statistics, 3 cr.; new course
    An introduction to applied multivariate statistical methods covering multivariate analysis of variance, multivariate analysis of covariance, repeated measures design, factor analysis, principle component analysis, cluster analysis, discriminate analysis, and multivariate regression. Course participants will be involved with hands-on statistical applications. Prerequisite: MTH 205 or 341. Offered Sem. I odd numbered years.
     
    Mathematics Major with Statistical Emphasis; change in credits from 39 to 40 credits with the addition of MTH 440 as a requirement rather than an elective; added required courses of MTH 305, 440 and 449 (new course) and deleting MTH 305, 410, 444 and 448 from the selection of electives.
     
    Mathematics Minor; change in electives with the addition of MTH 449 (new course) as an elective and deleting MTH 444 as an elective.
