Mission
The College of Business Administration
provides an educational experience that fosters the
professional, academic and personal development of its students,
staff and faculty. Our learning environment centers on a
commitment to quality teaching and learning, substantial
student-faculty interaction, and global engagement. Faculty,
administration and students will engage in scholarly activity,
provide service to the university and broader community and
exhibit high integrity and ethics in the conduct of our own work
and in our curriculum.
CBA Objectives
The CBA provides education, service, and
support as a critical link in the development of students and
business.
The CBA strives to be the business school of
choice for students in the region and provides business
education opportunities for students from across the state, the
country, and the world.
The CBA expects excellence in its teaching,
scholarship, and service endeavors. Our perspective is global
with regard to student preparation and service to businesses.
The CBA is committed to its students’ and
faculty’s improvement of self, industry, and society. To that
end, the CBA develops and maintains opportunities for faculty
and student development in learning, leadership, and service.
The CBA’s principal focus is on student
learning at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our teaching,
scholarship, and program development is directed by the need to
provide well-trained candidates for positions of responsibility
in local, state, national, and international organizations.
The CBA develops students’ understanding of
the ethical aspects of modern, global business activities. We
will actively engage students with opportunities for learning
through internships, student- directed research, and service
involvement.
The CBA is dedicated to providing business
education in which students become life-long learners whose
continual advancement as business and community leaders and
personal growth lead to ongoing improvement in their quality of
life.
Adviser Assignment
Students are assigned to faculty advisers in
their declared major area. Advisers help students develop
programs, plan schedules, discuss major and career choices and
refer for assistance in the case of academic difficulties.
Students are required to meet with their faculty adviser at
least once a semester.
The final responsibility for selecting courses
and meeting graduation requirements rests with the student.
Students should review course prerequisites by checking course
descriptions in the appropriate listings of this catalog and
consult with their faculty adviser and/or seek assistance from
the dean’s office.
