Upward Bound is a federally funded program for
low income and/or first generation college bound high school
students. It is funded under Title IV of the Higher Education
Act of 1965 and is one of the TRIO programs created by Congress
to help students overcome educational, social, cultural and
financial barriers to higher education. Services include weekly
tutoring and advising, monthly Saturday activities, college
visits, career exploration, and a six-week summer residential
