Who should I or my parents contact in case of an emergency?
The University Police emergency number is (608) 789-9999. The University Police Department operates a 24-hour service to provide assistance to the campus community in the event of an emergency.

How safe are the halls?
UW-L has been fortunate enough to have a record of a low number of crimes. UW-L strives to maintain a safe campus through employing secure builiding entrances, emergency procedures/services (fire, storm and police) and planning awareness programs. However, the safety of any campus is largely determined by the students themselves. We encourage our students to make choices that keep themselves and their belongings safe by locking their doors to their rooms whenever they are away, or overnight. In addition, by not allowing people they don't know to access the building, walking with friends and making wise choices with alcohol, students can continue to maintain the excellent record of safety here at UW-L.

If I'm not sure which department to call, who can I contact?
You can contact the UW-L switchboard at (608) 785-8000.
