The Entrepreneurial Training Program (ETP) is the next step beyond Planning Basics, which is part of the Business Basics series offered by the SBDC. ETP is an efficient set of classes designed to help you evolve your idea, develop a comprehensive business plan and recognize what it takes to build a profitable business.

The program focuses on teaching better business practices while producing a comprehensive business plan to guide your business decisions and activities.  You will learn the following as you prepare a written business plan: 

  • Start business planning.
  • Organize and better manage your business.
  • Identify opportunities and market your business.
  • Understand and get your business financials in order.
  • Get funding for your business.
  • Write a detailed, comprehensive business plan.
  • Network with other entrepreneurs.
  • Develop a network with small business support services.

8 efficient evening sessions. Sessions held on the UW-La Crosse campus.

Tuesdays, February 21-April 10, 2012 

Tuition Assistance - Program Cost: Your cost to attend the 8 sessions of ETP is only $250 if you complete your business plan by the deadline. The Wisconsin Department of Commerce will provide the remaining $750 in tuition assistance directly to the SBDC after your plan is completed and approved. Trained business advisors are available to assist you at no cost in developing your plan. Please note: you will receive an invoice for all the tuition fees if you do not complete your business plan by the deadline.

 

How to Apply:

1. To apply for ETP tuition assistance, please complete the online application. An SBDC representative will contact you to review the details.

2.  Following approval, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link to our tuition payment web page so you can register online to pay the $250 portion of your tuition.

3.  The $750 in tuition assistance will be provided directly to the SBDC by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce after you complete ETP and your business plan.
