What causes Hepatitis B?
Hepatitis B is caused by the Hepatitis B Virus.
How is Hepatitis B (HBV) transmitted?
HBV is transmitted by fluid contact. It is transmitted when fluids
(semen, mucus) from an infected person contacting a mucous membranes
(urethra, cervix) of another person. Most common exposure through
vaginal or anal sex.
What are the symptoms of HBV? HBV
is initially asymptomatic. With disease progression symptoms common to
all hepatitis disease may be present.
Is there treatment for HBV?
Currently there is no known treatment for HBV.
How can HBV be prevented?
Avoid contact with blood, body fluids, needles, etc. |
