The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students. Unlike meetings of academic professional organizations, this gathering of up to 2,000 young scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning and from all corners of the academic curriculum.
Important Dates and Deadlines for NCUR 2013
We are proud to announce that the 27th annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research
will be held at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The
Undergraduate Research and Creativity Committee is committed to
funding registration for select
student's from UW-La Crosse. Abstract submission for NCUR 2013
opens Monday, October 1st and closes Tuesday, December 4th. For more information please visit:

OPPORTUNITY FOR WAIVED OR DISCOUNTED REGISTRATION FEE
UW-L students whose abstracts are accepted for NCUR 2013 are eligible for a waived registration fee (regular price = $185). To qualify for the waived registration students must volunteer 8 hours at the event. Please see selection guidelines below for additional details.
UW-L students whose abstracts are accepted by NCUR, but not selected for waived registration, will be eligible for a discounted registration fee of $100. To qualify for the discounted registration students must volunteer 8 hours at the event.
General selection guidelines:
The Undergraduate Research and Creativity Committee (URCC) is committed to providing UW-L students the opportunity to present their research at annual events.
1. Registration awards will be selected based on the overall quality
of the research project.
2. Priority will be given to students who have not previously
received funding for travel to that event. Prior funding does
not eliminate a student from consideration, but places that
student at the bottom of the list.
3. Priority will be given to seniors, then to juniors, then to
sophomores, then to freshmen.
4. Every effort will be made to ensure that a fair distribution
of students is selected across and within academic departments
and programs.
*Additional selection guidelines, specific to NCUR:
1. In order to receive funding for NCUR 2013, the following
information must be included when you submit your abstract to
NCUR: Undergraduate Research Office Coordinator Information
2. A maximum of one student author per accepted abstract will be
funded.
