    Blood Drives

The Leadership and Involvement Center partners with the American Red Cross to host campus blood drives for students, staff, and community members. We use these events to encourage individuals to be active members of our community and participate in volunteer opportunities. Each blood drive is co-sponsored by groups and student organizations on campus who are interested in contributing to our community and promoting their organization’s mission, values, and goals. These groups volunteer their time to assist in the facilitation, promotion, and participation of the event they are co-sponsoring. There is no cost to the group other than the donation of their time. Blood drives happen three times a year; September, November, and February.

    Make a Difference Day

Make a Difference Day is a one-day national event held every October that celebrates service in local communities. The Leadership and Involvement Center coordinates service opportunities in the La Crosse area and encourages students to work together to accomplish service projects. For 2014, Make a Difference Day will be held on October 25th.

    Volunteer Fair

Volunteer Fair is an event that happens in February each year. The goal of this event is to inform UW-L students and staff about volunteer opportunities on and off campus. This event showcases representatives from about 50 community agencies and 5 UW-L student organizations that are dedicated to volunteering in the community. It is an excellent setting for students and staff members to network with student organizations at UW-L and community agencies. This event is a great opportunity for students who enjoy volunteering and for students who are required to complete community service hours for a degree program, class, or organization.
