FEE WAIVERS FOR UPWARD BOUND STUDENTS - Please check links below for official information about fee waivers for Upward Bound students

PSAT FEE WAIVERS - According to the College Board website:

Eligibility guidelines

  • The student must be in the 11th grade.
  • Your school must agree to waive any local administrative fees for these students.
  • The student must be either:

    • A resident in a federally subsidized public housing project or a foster home
    • An enrollee in a program that aids economically disadvantaged students, such as the federal free or reduced lunch program, Upward Bound, TRIO, or a local or state program intended to aid students who are economically disadvantaged

ADVANCED PLACEMENT EXAM FEE WAIVERS - According to the College Board website:

State law in Wisconsin (Wisconsin State Statute 120.12(22)) requires each school district to pay the AP Exam fee for public school students who are eligible for free or reduced-cost lunches in the federal school lunch program under 42 USC 1758.

Other criteria for identifying eligible students [for fee waivers or reductions]

  • The student is a member of a family receiving public assistance.

  • The student is a resident in a federally subsidized public housing project.

  • The student is a resident in a foster home.

  • The student is an enrollee in a program for the economically disadvantaged, such as Federal Free or Reduced Lunch program, Upward Bound/TRIO after-school programs, and other youth outreach agencies.

The College Board's site on AP fee reductions says:

The College Board provides a $22 fee reduction per exam for students with financial need. For each eligible student, schools should also forgo their $8 rebate. Thus, eligible students pay $57 per exam.
