TEACHER/TUTOR APPLICANTS
Kate Oganowski
is UB's new interim director. Kate has worked in the Office
of Multicultural Student Services in various capacities since 1999.
Since 2006, she was Outreach Specialist and Program Manager for the
Pre-college Programs. Her undergraduate degree is in Secondary
Education with a multicultural emphasis and she has a Masters degree
in Student Affairs Administration at UW-L. Her interests
include intercultural communication, leadership, student
empowerment, and the positive forward movement of UW-L (and baking!). Email Kate at

Paul Krause is UB's
assistant director. He's been with the program since 1990.
Paul teaches the Senior Seminar class during
Summer Session and supervises Wednesday evening tutoring. Paul is a
UW-L graduate who enjoys
his family, sailing, hockey and racing, among other things. He chairs the
Ho-Chunk Nation's Constitutional Reform Task Force and serves on the
Nation's Housing and Public Works Board. Email Paul at

Lisa Yang
is UB's advisor. A graduate of UB at UW-L, she meets with students on a weekly basis as well as supervising
Holmen tutoring on Mondays. As an undergrad at UW-L, she was a supervisor as
well as the Community Liaison for the Pre-College Tutoring Program with
Multicultural Student Services and assisted with Mississippi River Adventure
Camps in the summer. Lisa also worked in the Winona Area Public Schools as an
interpreter for a few years and she teachers Chinese during UB's
summer session. Lisa enjoys learning new
languages, music, playing board games, and watching movies. Email Lisa at

Cathy
Van Maren is UB's student services
coordinator and the office fossil (with UB
since 1985). Cathy does much of the office correspondence, publishing, data
evaluation, and
recordkeeping. A graduate of
Iowa State, she also took many classes at
UNC. Her interests include her family,
politics,
alternative
energy and
transportation,
the Netherlands,
gardening,
Waldorf education,
music composition and
bicycling. She and her
family
sell chickens, eggs and
