First Semester Calendar - 2009-2010

Our next Saturday event will be our annual CAREER DAY on Saturday, November 14. Parents are invited (encouraged) to attend!  We'll begin at 2:00 p.m. in Room 127 Reinhart Center, Viterbo University. After the keynote speaker, we'll hold a mock job fair. When the program ends, we'll have dinner at the Viterbo cafeteria. Upward Bound will pay for students' meals but parents or others who wish to stay for the meal must pay for their own ($7.60 - cash or check only). Rides for UB students from Sparta leave the Country Kitchen (741 Avon Road) at 1:00 p.m. and return there at about 6:30 p.m.Please RSVP no later than November 5 by returning the card that is being mailed with the invitation OR by completing the online form!

Please complete the 2009-2010 student academic year survey if you haven't done so already! We need this info to set up tutoring and special activities!

SUMMER STUDENTS - please complete the online Summer Evaluation!!! We really really want to know what you think!

College visit info - both first semester visits will occur on NO SCHOOL days so everyone may attend (seniors must have an application completed prior to the visit)! Check the College Visit page for details about who is going and the days' schedules.

University of Wisconsin - Platteville on Thursday, October 29. We will attend a Pioneer Preview day which will include a student services fair, info about admissions and finances, a walking tour, lunch on campus, and info from faculty about departments of interest. We will leave UW-L at about 6:30 a.m. (Sparta leaves at 6:00) and return to UW-L at about 5:30 p.m. (Sparta, 6:00). Especially students interested in engineering, ag and environmental related programs and building construction management should consider attending.

University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee on Friday, October 30. We will attend UW-M's Open House, a campus wide fair that showcases the programs, facilities and students. We'll leave UW-L at about 6 a.m. stopping at Sparta and/or Tomah to pick up students. We will return to UW-L by about 6 p.m.

The Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam is given to 10th graders. You can get sample/practice tests here.


For Juniors

PSAT Test Dates and info - TAKE THIS TEST at your high school. Your scores will be used to determine eligibility for scholarships and other good things!

ACT Test info - Plan to attend UB's ACT Prep sessions early second semester, then take the test in spring. If you complete UB's Prep Sessions we will give you a registration fee waiver!
