  • Future students

    Step 1

    Apply for admissions to UW-La Crosse.

    Step 2

    If you have served or are serving in the U.S Army, U.S Navy, U.S Marine Corps or U.S Coast Guard submit your Joint Services Transcript to UW-La Crosse so your military experience can be evaluated for transfer credit.

    If you have served or are serving in the U.S Air Force, contact the Community College of the Air Force to have your transcript sent to UW-La Crosse.

    Step 3

    Apply for Federal VA benefits. Make sure to save a copy of the VA application for your records. 

    Step 4

    Apply for Federal Financial Aid by filling out the FAFSA. 

    Step 5

    Sign up for a premium E-benefit account.  It's free and it provides a lot of information about your VA benefits.

    Step 6

    Apply for the Wisconsin GI Bill, if you are eligible.  Visit your local County Veterans Service Office.

    Step 7

    Send DD-214's Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBEs), Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to the veterans office.  We need to have your DD-214 or NOBE on file in order to give you priority registration.

    Step 8

    After you register for classes, please contact our office to set up your benefits.

    Step 2

    Make sure to send UW-La Crosse all your final transcripts from your past schools.

    Contact your Certifying Official on your campus and have them email our office your paperwork.

    Step 4

    Sign up for a premium E-Benefits account.  It's free and provides you with information about your Federal VA benefits.

    Step 5

    Register for classes and contact our office to set up your benefits.

    Step 6

    Make sure the veteran's office has all of your necessary VA paperwork, including your Certificate of Eligibility. You will need to fill out a VBA 22 1995 VA form since you are changing your place of training, which can be located in our office.  We also need to have your DD-214 or NOBE on file in order to give you priority registration.

    Step 7

    Register for our veteran's orientation.

    Step 1

    Apply for admissions to UW-La Crosse.

    Step 2

    Have your parent transfer their benefits to you through the DOD's website.

    Step 3

    Apply for Federal VA benefits. Make sure to save a copy of the VA application for your records. 

    Sign up for a premium E-Benefits account.  It's free and provides you with information about your Federal VA benefits.

    Step 4

    Apply for Wisconsin Veterans Benefits at your local County Veterans Services Office.

    Step 5

    Register for classes and contact our office to set up your benefits.

    Step 6

    Make sure the veteran's office has all of your necessary VA paperwork, including your Certificate of Eligibility.
