Second Annual YMCA Kids Marathon - August 1 - September 30, 2006  alt text """
  • This is an 8 week program starting at the beginning of August 2006 for kids of all ages and all ability levels.  This unique event gives kids the opportunity to accomplish running 26.2 miles, a full marathon, that is designed specifically for them.  Throughout the months of August and September, kids will run 26.2 miles and on September 3o, 2006 they will run their final mile to complete the marathon on the YMCA Maple Leaf Road Race course.  To keep kids motivated over the 8 weeks, the YMCA will be holding group training runs and sending out a kid-friendly newsletter that emphasizes the importance of healthy eating habits and staying active. The final run will be set up to your child's ability level as well, if they can only walk the course, great, if they can only run 1/2 a mile, we start them there, etc.  This is a great way to get your child involved and improve on your child's endurance levels before they begin PE or Adapted PE in School.  This is a start to an active and healthy future.  For more information or if  you want to sign up, call Alison Huppert at 608.782.9622 ext. 236  Come join the fun!
  • Registration deadline is by Monday July 31, 2006, please sign-up at the YMCA 1140 Main Street, La Crosse, WI 54601 or call 782.9622
