Warhawk Wheelchair Camp (Agency Programs) |
| Warhawk Wheelchair Camps are at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. UW-Whitewater facilities are completely accessible. UW-Whitewater will offer the participant-athlete opportunities to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally through participation in a variety of sporting activities through instruction with peers and the camp staff. Participants will have an opportunity to spend a week on a totally accessible campus, experiencing university life and gaining the experience of being away from home. All campers are under the careful supervision of a professional and highly trained staff. Wheelchair camps are for children ages 8-18 who have mobility impairment as their primary disability. All levels of mobility are encouraged. Individuals should have the willingness and ability to try several sports using adaptive equipment and rules. There are two camps offered: |
| 1. Sports Camp: The Junior Warhawk Wheelchair Sport Camp provides an introduction to a variety of sports. Activities which may be included are basketball, tennis, fitness training, lazar tag, go-karts, football, waterskiing, sledge hockey, and martial arts. This camp is recreational and limited to 15 participants. |
| 2. Basketball Camp: Junior Warhawk Basketball camp focuses exclusively on developing basketball skills. Athletes looking to attend this camp should be interested in competitive basketball. Participation is limited to 50 participants. |
